Event Overview:

Join Career Counsellors Chapter for "Tonight Show"-style interviews focused on the intersections between Career Counselling and fellow niches/areas of expertise in counselling and psychotherapy.

Featuring representatives from the Career Counsellors Chapter, Climate Informed Counselling Chapter, Technology and Innovative Solutions Chapter, Social Justice Chapter, and Post-Secondary Counsellors Chapter (Career + one additional chapter per event).

Meet Your Presenter:

Jen Davies joined Algoma University’s Social Work department in 2025. Previously she worked as the Director, Co-op, Career and Experiential Learning at Georgian College, and for 8 years she served as Manager, Career Development Services at the University of Toronto Scarborough. It was there she developed knowledge of effective practices in diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging. She completed a Doctorate in Education in Counselling Psychology at the University of Toronto in 2019. Her doctoral research focused on the career motivations of recent immigrants to Canada. She has been a Canadian Certified Counsellor since 2006.

Judith MacKinnon is a dedicated counsellor, educator and life-long learner with over two decades of experience supporting student success and career development at the post-secondary level working extensively with both domestic and international students. Her background spans counselling, peer mentorship, Cooperative Education, experiential learning, and teaching. Prior to Ontario, Judith worked in Eastern Canada as a teacher and counsellor across a wide variety of educational settings. She is currently completing a Doctorate in Social Justice Education at the University of Toronto with research focused on proposed revisions to the Employment Equity Act (1995). She has been a Canadian Certified Counsellor since 2007.
