Description:

We all are familiar with paranoia, especially in the context of a mental illness. However, I discovered that clients experience it as a result of such life events as former abusive relationships. We can help clients understand paranoia as experienced personally and assist them in developing healthier strategies in dealing with life.

Biography:

Shirley Soleil-Day, counsellor and advocate, lives in Aylesford, NS with her husband, Eddy. She has worked in the private sector for 43+ years. Besides her work as a counselor, Shirley is an author, historian and researcher. She founded and was Executive Director of the Invisible Disabilities Association of Canada (IDACan) for 15 years.
