Event Overview:

The Doctoral Consortium is to help those candidates who have completed their coursework and/or in preparation to commence working on their dissertation, thesis or major research paper and in anticipate entering into the field of Counselling and Psychotherapy in the next year or two to develop an effective career plan based on their personal, professional and research goals. The consortium has six primary objectives:

1. Provide networking opportunities for candidates with peers and faculty
2. Help students strategize about their research objectives
3. Provide valuable insight on the structure and form of a MRP, Thesis or dissertation
4. Coach candidates one-on-on pertaining to their individual research
5. Provide discussion on what makes impactful research.
6. Prepare students for the job market

The workshop includes an international and well studied faculty panelist on managing thesis. dissertation and research work. There will be breakout sessions after each panel, small groups of candidates will discuss the panel topic with their faculty mentors and fellow students. The intent is for candidates to apply the panel topic to their personal and professional research goals, with input from faculty mentors and peers. Furthermore, we will have breakout sessions where faculty mentors provide students with feedback on their MRP, Thesis or dissertation research.

About The Presenters:

Dr. Caroline Ntara holds a Ph.D in International Business. She is currently a Full-time faculty member at KCA University in Kenya and a freelance peer reviewer and journal selection expert at Enago-Crimson Interactive- New York.

Dr. Karina Ochis holds the position of CEO at KO Sci-Fi Branding, President of The Elite Group, Executive Consultant, Author and Speaker.

Prof. Oxford York is an integrative psychotherapist, international lecturer and human factors researcher.
